Ricky places his front paws on Vasyl’s (47-year-old veteran) shoulders to put a smile on his face. “This is probably the most soothing thing,” says Vasyl in the corridor of a large medical center for veterans in Kyiv. Oleksandr, a 38-year-old veteran also credits Deep Purple for saving his life as they take a walk in an open training session for preparation of the Invictus Games in The Hague. Both Vasyl and Oleksandr declined to give their full names.
