As California Governor Gavin Newsom orders citizens to home-quarantine, it isn’t just the people who feel the effects of the pandemic. Cats in California shelters face the risk of receiving minimal care since the general public cannot visit them for adoption.

The Animal Shelter Assistance Program (ASAP) battles this issue by sending more than 35 of their sheltered cats to foster homes. This is a win-win situation as the adopted cats will receive proper loving care by their foster homes and citizens who receive the cats will find companionship during the quarantine.
