People have been wondering what’s the difference between a service dog and a therapy dog due to their similar functions. For starters, a service dog is task-trained to cater one specific person’s needs, while a therapy dog serves everyone or a wide variety of humans.

A service dog also can’t be petted by anyone as the dog might see other humans as a threat resulting to a bite. Therapy dogs however, are trained to make everyone feel better so everybody can pet them without immediate necessary permission needed.
