Service dogs that assist their handlers diagnosed with epilepsy are able to recognize subtle changes in behavior or scent prior to an episode. Seizure alert dogs warn their handlers about an impending seizure attack by whining, barking anxiously, or pressing a button that calls 911. Indeed, seizure alert dogs give humans a second chance at life.
