Rescued Dogs and Cats from Hurricane Dorian Need Your Help

pets hurricane

Last Tuesday, it was reported that a total of 191 cats and dogs from shelters were airlifted from South Carolina to Delaware with the help of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Wings of Rescue.

Delaware’s Brandywine Valley SPCA branch is the operation’s central point and received rescued animals via the Best Friends Animal Society.

The death toll is rising in the Bahamas as Hurricane Dorian strikes on the archipelago leading to several organizations to team up for animal relief efforts.

Here’s how you can help!

Many of the animals are being prepared for adoption.

Adopt an animal evacuated from the hurricane zone and help shelters make more room for other rescued animals. There are local shelters you can reach out to in Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, Delaware, Wisconsin, and North Carolina just to name some.
