Anne Fricker is a Chief Probate Deputy for the County of Chattanooga, Tennessee. She proposed the idea of showcasing dogs from the McKamey Animal Center and the Humane Educational Society to visit her office. She loves animals and this is her reason for proposing as she wants the shelter dogs to have an increased chance for adoption.
But not everything is a happy ending as the Hamilton commission reverses the decision of showcasing sheltered dogs for a reason – allergies. Employees at her workplace expressed the concerns of allergies.
Yet, Fricker defended her cause saying, “The people who are allergic to dogs are being exposed to these dogs already, so I don’t see how it would be much different than keeping a dog and having it in our office.”
District 3 Commissioner Greg Martin was against the idea but also stated that it didn’t mean that the commission did not like dogs.
