Sarah Flickinger of Elliottsburg is a 2009 West Perry graduate. She started Flickinger’s Paws & Claws pet grooming way back in 2018 at Mifflintown. Her goal was to provide a better service in pet grooming than those from national chains.

All of the products they use are all-natural as they avoid chemicals that are harsh to animals and humans. After getting a lot of requests from Newport pet owners, she decided to expand and open a new shop there.

Flickinger said, “I had a lot people from Perry County inquire about service, but for many of them Mifflintown is too far of a drive.” The Paws & Claws in Newport will be open for appointments on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 4 pm as well as Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 am to 4 pm.
