The animal service of Madison County posted a photo of a visibly emaciated dog on Facebook after they found seven neglected dogs in the mountain county. The dogs were said to be found flea-ridden, parasite ridden, have urine/feces scalded feet, and were scared as they dodged cars in the unfamiliar place with people trying to catch them.
In the Facebook post, they said, “Our shelter had room to take them in, the owner just had to call us. There are food pantries in the county for people who cannot afford to feed their animals, you just have to call. We have an organization in the county that helps with parasite prevention and vet care. Again, you just have to call. The level of neglect in these dogs is inexcusable!”
