Nonprofit Assists Wounded Veterans While Training Service Animals for Others in Need

To train a service dog takes time. But for Paws for Purple Hearts, they have found a way to speed up this process. The way they do this is that the trainer of Paws teaches the dogs commands and the trainer also teaches the veterans and active personnel how to issue out orders.

Because of this, the dogs are able to be familiar with the person they will serve. The veteran or active service member also eases up to their dog while they await discharge. If you’re interested in the Paws for Purple Hearts and the work they do, you can follow them on Instagram through @PPHSanAntonio, their webpage, or through their Facebook.
