Sunday is the feast of St. Francis of Assisi – the patron saint of animals and ecologists. For the goers of St. Mary’s in New Plymouth, it is the perfect day to bless the pets. The day is usually attended by a lot of pets, but with the pandemic going on, only a few came and were mostly small dogs to follow social-distancing rules.

One of the dogs in the service was Kojack, a 10-year old Hungarian Vizsla-Labrador crossbreed. It was his first service and was almost left out due to his large size. But despite being a bigger dog-class, he was allowed to be blessed because of his very laid back demeanor.
