A lot of Santa Barbara County residents adopted furry friends from local animal shelters as a result of NBC’s “Clear the Shelters” campaign. The campaign, which is a one-month event, helped 55 pets find their forever homes.
It started on August 23, 2021, and ended on September 20, 2021. Thirty dogs, seventeen cats, six rabbits, one guinea pig, and one rooster were adopted. The animals came from the Santa Barbara County Animal Services Animal Shelter Assistance Program (ASAP), Bunnies Urgently Needing Shelter (BUNS), Santa Barbara Humane – Santa Maria Campus, Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society, and Dog Adoption and Welfare Group (DAWG).
If you didn’t get the chance to adopt a pet during the one-month campaign, you can still contact the Santa Barbara County Animal Services’ website for inquiries.
