In Napa Valley, Jackie Martin and her family created the Napa Service Dogs, a non-profit organization that adopts rescue dogs to be trained to become a therapy dog or service dog and then given for free to veterans who might be struggling after coming back from military service.

Jackie’s family have all served the country with her husband in the Navy, two sons in the Marines and another serving as a reserve. This drove them to pay it forward by matching a rescue dog to American combat veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury or physical disability.

The dogs are trained by local animal training expert Dan Cartwright who has more than 40 years of experience in training animals.
