Memorial Erected to Honor Pennsylvania’s Working Animals

Rob Lauver asked Terri Heck of Summit Search and Rescue k-9 and current President of the Pennsylvania State Working Animal Foundation (PSWAF) to serve on a committee for creating a memorial in honor of Pennsylvania’s working dogs.

“A lot of people don’t know the wonderful things that dogs, some horses, some cats, and other animals do for us from a working perspective,” says Heck. Those living in Pennsylvania owning or have owned a service or working animal can have their companions honored on the memorial.

One of the project’s purposes is to raise awareness about the importance of animals and the roles they fulfill in various working settings. So that in the future, more people would know how to help working animals perform their jobs effectively if they were to see one in public.
