Zack Skow was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease. He also battled with addiction. Having less than 90 days to live, he set out on a mission to recover with the help of his dogs. Skow started living a healthy lifestyle, exercising regularly, and soon enough he was able to recover. The doctors were even surprised.

Skow says that he lets his dogs steer his life. And now, he doesn’t even need a liver transplant to survive. Because of his recovery, Skow commits to improving the lives of animals. Skow then started Marley’s Mutts, a non-profit organization that rescues, trains, and provides homes for death row dogs.

According to Skow, “I really hope people will look into giving a dog a second chance.”
