Lila Joins the U.S. Capitol Police

Lila is a two-year-old black Labrador. She will officially join the Capitol Police as the first emotional support animal of the agency on July 5. Her presence is highly needed for staff, officers, and members of the house of representatives who were traumatized by the riot.

In a tweet, the agency said, “We are thrilled to welcome the newest member of our Department!” Lila won’t be the only emotional support animal enlisted to the force as she cannot de-stress all members of the department.

According to the website of the U.S. Capitol police, they have 2,000 officers and more than 350 civilian employees under oath. More emotional support animals will join and they are still probably under training.
