Not all battles happen in the battlefield. Former Royal Naval Chief Petty Officer Allen Parton had a car crash which left him disabled. Unable to talk, walk, write and read, he tried ending his life twice.
But it all changed when three amazing assistance dogs came along. They were Endal, Endal Junior, and Rookie. Allen met Endal by chance because of his wife Sandra’s volunteer work with assistance dogs. According to Allen, Endal has dragged him out of that terrible pit of despair he’s been in.
Inspired by his dogs, Allen launched a charity called Hounds For Heroes. The charity provides assistance dogs to injured and disabled men and women of both the UK Armed Forces and Emergency Services.
