Pocatello Animal Services Director Josh Heinz reassures the public that there are still four employees looking after the animals in the pound. The animals supposed to be endangered without care are receiving the same treatment as before.

The shelter had been closed to the public to help stop the spread of COVID-1 and pet adoptions are being forbidden in the meantime. Aside from the animals receiving care as they did before, the pound and its staff members still respond to calls of picking up stray animals made by the public.

An exception to this is that the pound will not take in trapped stray animals and strongly advises local residents to cease trapping amidst the pandemic.
