India has replaced Brazil’s spot as the second country with the most COVID-19 cases. It’s no surprise that they too would also be suffering numerous deaths due to the disease. In the case of Pune, one of India’s biggest cities, their centre offers people and patients comfort and help through the use of trained therapy animals.

Swakaya is a holistic healing and wellness centre that opened last Saturday. They house 8 rabbits, 7 visiting therapy dogs, and 10 therapy cats. They’re also planning to include guinea pigs and hamsters for the therapy of small children. For Pune residents interested in animal-assisted therapy, you can visit the Swakaya premises at Boat Club Road.
