The United Kingdom’s Home Office has shown that Oxfordshire’s Fire and Rescue Service went to an average of 1.3 animal rescues per week in 2018-19. These rescues done on animals to help them out of tricky situations are just some of the 5,000 rescues carried throughout England.
Fire and rescue services, however, encourage people who are asking assistance for animals to contact the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) first to avoid the unnecessary calling of fire and rescue services. The RSPCA says that the assistance of firefighters is an important asset to their officers as well.
