Suzette Critchlow, a local from New Castle, who suffers from short-term memory loss, shares her bad experience with her service animal. One day, she took LuLu (here service dog) with her to the store to shop.
Critchlow had no problems with that store where she’s a frequent customer (and other local stores). But on that day, an employee questioned why she brought LuLu and that LuLu wasn’t allowed at the store. Despite showing paperwork, the employee continued to embarrass her in front of other customers by reading aloud her paperwork.
She filed a complaint, and the store manager said that the employee would be retrained. Since that day, Critchlow felt doubtful and has been told to always carry her paperwork in case the same incident happens again. She feels that employees need to be trained more when it comes to service animal laws.
