Humans are truly fortunate to have organizations to turn to like the Red Cross, food banks, or fire departments when times of crisis arrive. Sadly, there isn’t much help for animals and pets. That’s why Westmoreland/Fayette/Allegheny County Animal Response Team started a pet pantry to keep all animals fed that have been affected by the pandemic in the area.
But now, the pantry stocks are running low and they require supplies to keep the affected animals fed. On top of that, the number of animals in need is also growing. You can help by dropping pet food in donation boxes at Eastgate Plaza Giant Eagle, 5142 Route, Hempfield; Pet Market, 250 S. Third St., Youngwood; Abie & Bimbo’s Pizza, 1017 Highland Ave., South Greensburg; and Petagogy, 240 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg.
For those who are willing to give gift cards or checks for supplies, you can send them to the Pennsylvania State Animal Response Team, 8355 Route 819; Greensburg, PA 15601. You can also send your credit card donations through paanimalresponse.org.
