Not every non-profit organization aims to shelter animals in need. A group like ElderDog has the mission of helping seniors in the Kamloops community. The assistance they provide ranges from walking the animals, taking the pets to veterinarian appointments, or re-housing the pets when the owner can no longer care for them. They’ll do anything petcare-related as long as it helps an elderly person live an easier life.
“If you are a senior dog owner who requires assistance in caring for your companion, or if you are interested in volunteering to assist in its work, you can find out more information at www.elderdog.ca, or by calling 1-855-336-4226,” advises Tianna Smidt, the Pawd leader for the Thompson Okanagan ElderDog group.
