Andy Szasz, a civil engineer from Southampton, England was rushed to intensive care in 2016 after suffering from pneumonia. He was also battling bowel cancer beforehand. The doctors decided to put Andy in a medically induced coma when he started to stop breathing.
People at the hospital, however, were astonished when Szasz’s Schnoodle, barked to wake him up 3 days before the planned date to bring him back. Andy’s Schnoodle is named Teddy and is 6-years-old. Since then, the staff of the hospital allowed Teddy to visit him until the day he was discharged.
Szasz who just woke up from the coma said, “I was so surprised to see Ted, but my mind was made up – he’s my guardian angel.” Teddy won a top animal prize after. Now, the dog continues to change the lives of others as a hospital therapy dog.
