More Discussion Is Needed About Emotional Support Animals

It’s becoming more challenging for people with mental health disabilities to bring their emotional support animals in public areas. A lot of airlines have now placed limits on ESAs, United Airlines for example, after a passenger carried a peacock with her.

Because of this growing use of ESAs, passengers are confused as to what a true emotional support animal is. Some people take advantage by claiming that their pets are emotional support animals. United Airlines spokesperson Charles Hobart said that this is unfair to those who abide by the rules.

Also, people in public places expect that every assistance animal is trained especially if it wears a vest. But fake emotional support animals misbehave and leave a negative impression in people’s minds. As we can see, more discussion is required regarding the use and behavior of emotional support animals.
