Rebecca Griffin suffers from non-epileptic seizures, migraines, and hypoglycemia. Because of this, she availed a service dog to help her warn of an oncoming seizure. But service dogs can take a long time to be ready and would cost a lot. Then here comes Zoe. Three years before, Zoe was just an ordinary house pet. A dog Rebecca and her husband Nathaniel Abney adopted from a shelter when she was just 6 months old.
Right before Rebecca started to have her health problems, Zoe started alerting the couple about Rebecca’s incoming seizure for multiple occasions. “She is just amazing. She has really been an answered prayer, a Godsend,” said Abney. Because of this event, the couple took Zoe to Sandy Wittliff of Angel Paws in McGregor for formal service dog training.
