Residents of the Champlain Tower South are worried as demolition crews prepare to work on the still-standing portion of the building. Local officials reassure affected families that they have done their best and will continue to do so in the search of missing furry family members.
Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said, “I very much understand that pets are part of people’s families. My heart goes out to those who fear for their animals, and I just want you to know that additional efforts have been made and are being made.”
No new animals have been found as of now. But the search will continue as other pets may have been left behind in the panic of the evacuation.
