May 20 was National Rescue Dog Day, according to National Day Calendar. It’s a special day where we get to remember and appreciate the things that rescue dogs do for people with disabilities and the elderly to make their lives better.
Rescue dogs help in many ways. They don’t just help you to become more independent by serving as your eyes and ears, but they also offer comfort and friendship. In school settings, rescue dogs have the ability to teach children about kindness and caring for others.
To observe National Rescue Dog Day, some people would volunteer at local shelters and consider giving a rescue dog a forever home.
