Question: Can landlords, retail store staff, and others demand paperwork for your animal?

Answer: These people are not allowed to demand registration “paperwork,” or “documents” for your assistance animal, but many will demand paperwork anyways, even though none is legally required. This is why registration with a registry such as SARC is extremely helpful. By handing over a registration, you can shortcut the conversation.
