Question: Can an animal have a combination of rights?

Answer: An animal may be more than one type of assistance animal. If an animal is both a therapy animal yet also serves its disabled owner as either a service animal or emotional support animal, then that animal has a combination of rights.

The Service Animal Registry of California invites you to have your assistance animal registered in order to designate its status. We also encourage you to take our online classes so you can be fully aware of your rights and gain more knowledge about your support animal.
