Animal Shelter Teams Up With L.A. Chargers to Get Pets Adopted

It all started when a Chargers representative reached out about seeing how they could help Louis – a dog whose eyes were removed due to an eye infection. Louis also was hit by a car last January 2020 and was taken into the Helen Woodward Animal Center in December of the same year.

The Chargers then raised awareness for Louis’ adoption by sharing his story on all their social media accounts. That led to the partnership of the Chargers and the animals center. Now, the Chargers are appealing to the general public to adopt 12 of the pets at Helen Woodward.

Adoption fees and a Lazy Dog Pepper’s Pack will be covered and provided by both the NFL team and the Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar for the first five families that will adopt these pets. Those who are interested in adopting must first request an appointment at animalcenter.org.
