The moment a person considers ending their life, making them change their decision becomes a difficult responsibility for everyone else. That’s why when first responders of southwestern England were called, the negotiations didn’t go well, especially for the police.
Luckily, Digby the therapy dog came. “One of the fire crews had the idea to bring along Digby, our ‘defusing’ dog,” said the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service (DSFRS) in a Twitter post.
The woman who was standing over the guard railings of a bridge near Exeter saw Digby. In the same Twitter thread, the DSFRS added, “She was asked if she would like to come and meet Digby if she came back over the railings, which we are pleased to say she did.”
All in all, the day had a happy ending. Our best wishes go to the woman so that she may have a successful recovery.
